I have the same problem with a Latitude D510 that I support.  It is running Windows XP SP2 and the error occurs when files are accessed over our network.  I have been unable to find a solution to this problem anywhere.

Thanks for the info and the quick reply!  I've made the change so now I'll cross my fingers and hope it works.

Thanks again!

I finally figured out what was causing the errors on our systems.   In Windows Explorer under Tools | Folder Options, they had Show Common Tasks in Folders checked so I changed it to Use Windows classic folders.  Once I made this change the user no longer got the error.   We had some other users that had errors that were similar and I made this change in their windows explorer and it also fixed their problem.    What we found was they had Windows Explorer open while using MS Word and for some reason that view was causing problems...Very strange...
