fax console modem recognition

Since changing from dial up to broadband I can no longer get a dial tone in fax console.  The configuration wizard has the connexant dial up modem as the default setting and I am unable to change it to the  Dr Speedtouch broadband modem I am now using.   Am I able to send and receive faxes in fax console with a broadband modem and if so, how do I configure it?
