You are using the Files & Transfer Wizard to do this and that is the wrong application.  Ideally you could burn the files to a CD and move them or connect the two machines together creating a peer to peer netwrok and transfer them that way.

The latter would require a crossover cable, NIC's in both machines, and a couple of chnage to netwrok properties.  Simple to do.

You should select "Other" say Desktop & tick box at the bottom "Let me select......" then you have the option to  Add/Delete Folders.
You can later Burn Desktop File to CD.

Hi jmwills,

Thank you very much for your help. I followed the advice in the Dell Owners Handbook and inferred that was the way. I was trying to use a Removable Disk although the book mentioned Floppy Disks as the intermediate storage. I am somewhat new to this so your help was very much appreciated. Thanks again

Adrigole.

Hi gryjhnhpe,

Thank you for your help and advice.

When you get to the section 'add/remove' part do you remove all the files that you do not want to transfer and just leave the one you wish to transfer ?.

Thanks again,

Adrigole.
