Files & Settings Transfer .dat File

Question

I recently reformatted and reinstalled WinXP SP2. However, I've realized my last data backup only contains the IMG00001.dat file, not the other associated files produced by the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard. Is there anyway to reconstruct or bypass these files, and thus allow me to restore the data hidden away in that .dat file?

If you formatted C: the data is probably lost. I really don't think this will help but if you want to try these two recovery programs, all you'll lose is some time. See my post (4th):
