Firefox

Can anyone tell me what Firefox is and how do I know I have it on my computer?  I am not very computer literate and I need to know if I have certain system requirements for a course I'm taking online.  Please help!

Firefox is free web browser that is an excellent open source alternative to Internet Explorer. Unless you've downloaded it and installed it to your hard drive, it's unlikely that you already have it. It is available for download here.

It's a DOWNLOAD. I recently downloaded Firefox and just posted a message to find out what it's advantages over Explorer are if any.
