Go to Control Panel|Admisitrative Tools|Services; find Windows Firewall (they are listed alphabetically; check to see how it is started (manually or automatically). If it is started manually then change that to automatically; right click on the line, select Properties; in Startup Type select automatically. If the Norton program which you are using is or includes the Norton Firewall, AND if that is an early version of the Norton Firewall, a conflict between the two Firewalls could emerge. That is not true of the current updated version of the Norton program.
Ok, checked that and it's configured for automactic. I have tried disabling the Norton firewall and results are still the same. What version of Norton conflicts and how can I find my version? I have had this system about a month now and am pleased so far, except this.
