Flash player & shockwave player ,neither show video ?

 Hi to All ,
Sometimes a friend of mine will send me an email w/attachment that will contain a small video, nothing X rated or stuff like that .This is usally some politicial satire , or just something funny ,well thats according to what he tells me becasue I only get audio in Macromedia's Flash player ? It shows that I have the proper player already installed on my system when I go to their web site, just does not work ,any suggestios ,or someone else familar with this same problem when they first tried viewing short movie clips on either Flash player or Shockwave Flash player ?
                                Thanks to All

I have seen similar story when some policy restrictions are applied to the system.

The current Flash is V9, from Adobe. If you don't have that version download and install it. I just fixed a customer's PC about a week ago with a similar problem by downloading and installing the latest Adobe Flash.

 Hi ,
Thanks for the reply and info ! When I go to flash players web site it confirms that I have version 9.0 installed (maybe some additionial #'s to version I cant recall) However even on their home page of the player the litttle movie that shows your installed version is working is just a black box .This is stange becasue even on my old P3 750MHz I get both players they are installed and working just fine .Iam going to send Dell support this ? about the Flash player and the Shockwave player, perhaps its some security setting ,or Iam thinking the full version is not installed ,when I go the Windows Explorer and browse my way to the folder for the Flash player under Programs ,the size is only about 14M.B. ,and I believe a full install of player is more like in the 30-40 M.B. range ? Thanks and any more help you may have to offer would be grealty appreciated !
