flash player

Question

I have had nothing but trouble the last few weeks with adobe flash player, I have  a 2007 desktop with vista, can't play some of the game I have and also most sites I go too say javascript is turned off, I have version 6 update 7 of that and it is on, and keeps telling me I need to download latest flash player, but when I try to download it dosn't install, help

If you had a previous version of the Flash player, you may have to uninstall it and then try installing the latest version again.

You may also need to uninstall any previous versions of Java. This is not done automatically

I uninstalled old version (all versions of flash player} did the tools, itnernet options, security, custom levels, enabled and  disabled everything the troubleshooting at adobe said to do, nothing seems to work, don't want to pay $60.00 an hour to have somebody tell me there is a wrong setting on the computer, this is a 2007, dell with vista, any other suggestions I would be willing to try.

I assume that you reinstalled the latest version of the Flash Player?

I tried to, went to the adobe site, clicked on download, it tried to downloa but just stopped.

No echo there rebel, flash and java are two different programs.   Do you reboot after the uninstall? and after the download? Not always neccessary, but worth a try.

'flash and java are two different programs.'   Absolutely correct. So why would you have to uninstall Java to ensure that Flash Player works correctly???

Yes, I have rebooted several times, no luck but thanks for all the suggestions I have gotten so far, have tried them all and will keep trying
