Folder Launch

When I boot or reboot, one of my personal folders launches.  I've searched the msconfig stuff, but did not find it anywhere.  Any ideas what is causing this and how to stop it?

Do you leave this folder open when you shutdown or restart??

check your folder options/view tab, be sure that "restore previous folder windows at log on" is Not ticked.

I checked both locations.  Found adobe, AOL, and P2KCommander - but nothing that would or should launch a folder.  :mansad:

You might check these registry keys to see if there is anything set to run

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

check scheduled tasks, see if it in there.

Re-check these

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Also check these in the Version folder
RunOnce
RunOnceEx
RunServices
RunServicesOnce

If you get no results, try running a program called Hijack this, it should show what is calling the folder to open.

Fixed it!!!

When rechecking the 'Run' registries, and as mentioned before, there was an entry for P2KCommander.  It occurred to me that I had uninstalled this program sometime ago so it was not needed.  Deleted the registry entry for P2KCommander and that seems to have corrected the problem.  Not sure why, as P2KCommander had no known ties to the folder that was popping up, but looks like the problem is gone.

Thanks so much for your help! :smileywink:
