Forum

I need to know if windows firewall is on do I need the worm protection that norton 2007 has on?The system is saying that it is using nortons firewall and since I am having problems connecting to sites I turned off norton worm protection so I only have 1 firewall on at a time. Now I can go to sites exept the virus forums here. When I go to virus forum I am no longer logged in. When I do login I get a page that says this forum needs cookies allowed to work!!!I have all default cookie settings. It also says authentication failed. Ever since I installed IE7 and Norton 2007 all I am having is one problem after another.

highlander, i don't think that NAV's "inbound firewall" would cause the problems that you are having, but yes, you  have the option of not using it.. the "windows firewall" will still function as your firewall.. i have used NAV2007 and i am familiar with its inbound firewall, but i don't know much about it aside from how to set it up.. i mean, i don't know if it does anything more that block some ports, which your firewall wound handle with or without NAV's "inbound firewall".. the "bad" thing is that if you turn the "inbound firewall" off, NAV's security ctr will report that you are "not protected".. that would irk me..

i think that the problems that you are having are from installing IE7 without having first uninstalled "zone alarm".. i think that you should try uninstalling IE7 and then reinstalling it (without zone alarm installed).. if you want to install "zone alarm" after reinstalling IE7, i think that that would be OK..

p.s. you said that NAV2007 didn't tell you that it was not compatible with spybot when you were installing it.. that must have been because you didn't have spybot's realtime protection running at the time..
