Go to Dell's site and download the latest version of the System Software for your model. Install it on the PC and then try loading everything else.
BTW: Did you reinstall the chipset drivers immediately after loading XP and before loading video driver, then audio driver, then followed by all the others?
hey ron. ill download the new system software. as for installing the chipset, video/audio drivers etc i made the mistake the first time of installing everything out of order. i re-formatted and reinstalled again following that. this time i tried to follow the process you mentioned by going for the system software first.. obviously a no-go. figured id get an opinion before continuing. is it ok to go ahead and install the chipset even tho its second in the process or should i download and install the new sys software first?
