It's your Mac background. When you insert a CD a small CD icon appears next to your cursor as the CD is detected then the icon disappears. What happens next depends on what you have set for autoplay parameters based on the contents of the CD. You set those by right-clicking the CD-ROM in Windows Explorer, selecting Properties, then entering your preferences on the AutoPlay tab.
so, unless a specific cd is set to autoplay, an icon wont show upon the desktop as a mounted drive, correct? I am now trying a shortcut to the drive itself, it seems to change the icon to the disk inserted when mounted.
