Getting spell check to work
In my outlook 6 email program there is a feature called spell check. It's at the top of the message box and you click on it after you've written your email to make sure your spelling is correct. For a long time it was working but now that button is grayed out and I can't access it. I want to know how to get it back working again.

First thank you for writing, but, on my options in O.E.6 there is no spelling feature that you indicated in the facsimile in your email. I am wondering if I may have tinkered around with some buttons and clicked on something that changed the configuration around on my program. Do you have any idea how I can restore my email program to the way yours is?

Spell checking in Outlook Express requires that Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint be installed on the computer. If you have recently removed them your spell checking options will no longer be available.
The procedure for troubleshooting spell checking in OE is illustrated here.

Thanks again for coming to the rescue. After installing Microsoft word my spell check came right up and is functioning well.

That should correct the problem. You can copy it from your hard drive or download a copy from here.

Is it ok to have more than 1 copy of a dll file in different places?
Yes, as long a there is a copy where the application that uses it looks for it.

Comcast Cable Modem to Alpha Shield firewall to Netgear Router. Wireless to Inspiron 6000 and wire to desktop.
