GoBack
I was wondering if anyone knows about GoBack. I have my main hard drive that has the OS in it which is 40GB then I installed a 160GB as the second drive. Now, my question is when I install GoBack, do I have to install it on the drive that has all my OS in it or can I install it into my other drive so I can save space on my smaller drive and if I can, will it still protect my main drive? Another question is how come GoBack doesn't protect both drives, it will only protect the OS drive?

41 GB and up 4 GB for Goback
less than 40GB: 10% of the hard-drive capacity for GoBack.(you can make it less on a custom install, but no more than 4 GB, but the less space you allow for GoBack, the fewer restore points you will have)
No, a drive does not need an Operating system on it for GoBack to protect it, (but you need an OS on one hard-drive to access GoBack), as long as it a IDE hard drive. (Not sure about the other kinds of HD's)
Good luck.
(And remember, backup you important files to CD/R's or CD/RW's)(Get a CD burner if you don't have one)
(Or DVD's if you have a DVD burner)

I never had that problem. I have an 80GB Hard drive, and then installed a 120 GB hard drive. Then I used disk management to format it.
Only one Drive was protected, so following directions in GoBack help, I uninstalled GoBack, then reinstalled it. Both drives had a green check mark by them.
May not make a difference, but both HD's were jumpered at "cable Select"
And the new drive was a the secondary drive.

It is a shame that Goback was sold to Symantec. I bought GoBack when it was owned by Roxio, and Roxio had support forums.
I think you should try to go to Symantec's support site
On the back of each hard drive, there are pins that have nothing connected to them outside of the hard drive. There is a clip(s) that connects 2 pins together to make the hard-drive behave a certain way.(usually tweezers are used to remove and replace the clips) Usually there is a diagram on the hard-drive how to set the jumpers, or go to the manufacturer's website to found the
diagram .They may already be on CS. And I'm not sure if that is required. (I mean, you may have the primary as master, and the 2nd HD as slave, and GoBack should still work, but I don't know for sure)
As far as any more help, try the above link.
I just happened to format my second HD using disk management, but not sure if it's required for GoBack to recognize it.

I don't have any more ideas. I am sorry. My Goback is Goback Deluxe updated to version 3.21.
Roxio no longer has the Goback forum, because Syamntec bought GoBack.
All I can tell you is use the link I provided, and also to get help with your hard-drives, try the hard-drive forum.

I agree that when Roxio had it, the forums were fantastic. But, I have never been able to get any help from Symantec for anything. What a shame.
