Going back to Windows XP

I have a Inspiron 1501 Laptop. I have recently installed the upgrade for Vista.  I have incountered many problems with it.  And I am wanting to downgrade to Windows XP. What would be the saftest way to do that and what disk would I use to do that with?? Thanks.

Clean install only..  Reformat and Reinstall windows xp.  Save your stuff or its lost.  You do have the windows xp disk do you not  ?

I've encounter some installations problems at first, but, most have been solved and working pretty good now. Give it a chance.

I spent almost 10 hours (including 2 hours with Dell remote into my laptop) and regret ever getting started on this process. I have a Inspiron 1405E Intel Duo 1.8 with one gig of RAM (I know I need more, I don't run Aero). The system runs much slower, boot up and shut down are much longer. I requested and received a set of restore disks from Dell. I suggest you get them while you can.

Its always best to do a clean install of Vista, not an upgrade to eliminate the old code and messing up the system for many.  :smileywink:

I agree with SR45. The first time I didn't and had all kinds of problems. The second time I did a clean install, and download drivers from Dell's website. Much better now.
