Graphic Device error

I've been installing AIMutation to add on to my AIM....(it is WinME compatible) and for the last 2 days I've noticed that I get either error that pops up when I change the skins:

"GDI.exe"  (error)  or "GDI32.dll" (error)  they both pop up and say that they will now close the AIM program.

I looked up the GDI.exe file and found that the last time it was modified was on June 8, 2000 (I bought my Dell in 2001) and the file version is 4.90.0.3000.  Could it be that I need to update the file or driver?

Please advise.

thanks!

Extract a copy gdi.exe file using the MSConfig utility.

1. Click Start and select Run
2. In the Run dialogue box, type msconfig and click OK
3. Click on Extract File
4. Type in sulfbnk.exe and click Start
5. In the restore box type c:\windows\options\cabs
6. In the save in box type c:\windows\system and click OK
7. It will ask you to save a backup if the file, click OK
8. It will then say extraction was successful
9. Click OK to finish and restart your computer if needed.

This will solve the problem.

Oops...  Find that I don't have that file, "sulfbnk.exe"

wasn't there a link from MS to restore that file?

edit:  aha...here is the link: http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/sulf.html

it says that if I can't find it on my HD, it'd be on the WinME CD.

2nd edit:  Oh poo, try extracting a file from a "Reinstallation CD-WinME" --
that didn't work...   Can't find in my HD, & can't extract it from this kind of CD.

Suggestions, anyone?

I apologize for my earlier communication. It is suppose to be GDI.exe not sulfbnk.exe. Extract GDI.exe using the MSConfig. replace sulfbnk.exe with gdi.exe.

Sorryyy..
