harddisk security
upon power up the dell logo appears for approx. 1-2 secs after that it goes to a blue and black screen that says
SATA PORT 0 HITACHI HTs545025B9ALOCK I have continued to hit F12 and F8 on several occations. well to be honest i have tried every f key there is including DEL and ESC can someone help me please?

ok upon pushing up and esc at the same time, screen says please input password for Hitachi HTSS545025B9A....
hopeful there is an administrative password??????

Thanks for providing us this information.
I would like to inform you that password has been set for the harddrive itself. Have you recently set any password or changed the harddrive of the system.
It might be an issue with the harddrive as well so kindly run the diagnostics on the same:
