Right click desktop, click properties. Settings tab, click advanced, troubleshoot tab, it has a slider there for setting hardware acceleration. Move the slider to full, click apply, OK.

 

However, depending on your system and graphics card your system may not be able to use full hardware acceleration. If you encounter problems with the display or freezes when using direct3D try one notch down.
