Help disabling touchpad: Inspiron N5110 Windows 7
I've tried all the intuitive options to disable the touch pad. I can't find a way to do it via the control panel which seems the most obvious way and FN+F3 doesn't do anything. Ideally I would like it to be inactive as long as a USB mouse is connected but at this point I'll take anything; I would be happy if I could just make it less sensitive even. I've never had a touch pad this hyper sensitive and I need a fix before I do something drastic. Please help.

Open Windows Mobility Center aka Quickset to change settings. You might also have hotkeys available. Check the manual. It has this--
Windows Mobility Center 1. Press the < > keys or press the Windows Mobility Center button to launch Windows Mobility Center. 2. In the Function Key Row, select Function Key or Multimedia Key
