help enabling & running java applets in ie

Hi ,

 

I am a student and need to be able to run my java applet programs in the IE browser.  My applets works find at school but on my window xp media system it does not work.  every thing compiles correctly but the actual applet when run in ie comes back 'applet notinit' in the status bar.  If there is any software techs who might know what I should do to get it working, I will greatly appreciate the help.

 

 

I have aready check the control panel 'java plug-in', and under Internnet Options - Advance- Java Sun - use Java 2v1.42_03 for -- is checked.
