HELP HELP HELP!!!!!

Question

Please Help!...... I have purchased a new notebook inspiron 9400/e1075 media centre. From the start i have had problems with o/s sonic update etc. I had it installed by a pc engineer who installed AVG etc i bought a new mcafee internet security. Which detected a virus with AVG i need a format and clean install. My resource and works cds are all i have and my o/s is on hard drive. Nothings been backed up and cant run resource cd as i get the message cant find rfc. How do i recover factory settings?. I have tried alt F11 but cant get into synantec restore either. Am now desperate for help as dell are closed till Monday.

Have you tried just uninstalling AVG . . you don't want two antivirus programs running on the same machine . . this assumes McAfee IS includes their antivirus? . .

I uninstalled it first before installing mcafee. I need a format and new install but cnt even acess fdisk. My o/s in on hdd but dont know where. Thanks for reply

hi, Use CTRL+F11 at dell logo for PCRestore(symantec)..ofcourse after backingup your files.
