Help!!! Help!!! Question Concerning DOS

Not sure if I'm in the right area to post this question. Is there a way to add the date to an existing filename without doing it manually? Is there a way to create a .bat file to do this when ever I run the .bat file? For example I have a filename C:\TEST, and I want to add the date to that filename so it will be C:\TESTYYYYMMDD. I hope I made this clear enough. Thanx in advance.

Here's a  thread from Experts Exchange that explains how to do that, found by searching Google for win95 add date to filename.
