HELP! I can't click on anything...

Latitude D600 notebook crashed last night, and ever since, I haven't been able to CLICK on anything. The keys below the spacebar don't work at all and the two below the touchpad don't function either. The cursor works and everything else on my computer runs (for the most part), but as I'm unable to actually CLICK on anything, the computer is useless. How do I fix this? What kind of problem is this? Help!

Hey

The First thing is, if you plug in a external mouse to your notebook can you click and move the mouse then. This will tell us weither it is the hardware touchpad of your notebook or if it is Software (Windows)  Let me know what happens

Try running a System Restore to a date before the crash.
Start>help&support
Click "Undo changes..."
Follow prompts and pick latest date available before the crash. Personal files will be ok, but any software or XP updates originally installed after the date used for the Restore will have to be reinstalled.

Everything works fine when I use an external mouse.
What now?

Hey,

The system restore is a good idea. If that does not work I would get your dell Resource cd out and reinstall the touchpad drivers. That should fix the problem if that doesnt what you will need to do is contact dell support and if you are still in your warranty get a new touchpad for your computer. You can call Dell tech support at 1-800-624-9896
