HELP! IMPOSSIBLE PROBLEM WITH ETHERNET CONTROLLER

Question

OK, I have an Inspiron 6400/E1505 and I know my tag number, but my SATA H/D died and I had to buy a new one. I managed to install XP from an original Microsoft Disk, but all the Dell drivers are missing. I can't download any drivers from my desktop computer because Dell apparently checks the system and does not recognize it as a Dell (which it isn't). So, I need to download at least the network driver so I can connect to the Dell site and download the necessary software and drivers, but I can't. How can I get at least the ethernet network controller driver so I can connect to the Internet with the Inspiron?

I download drivers all the time with a non-Dell PC and no problems. DO NOT use the Dell download manager, just download them direct with the Blue download button.

One issue with the Ethernet and other drivers is the Chipset drivers. The Chipset drivers MUST be installed before installing any device drivers.
