Help me Please!!!! Windows Vista Premium

I have a XPS 420, with 4GB of Ram and 2.4ghz, 750 GB of Hard Drive. With Windows Vista Premium.

The computer worked excellent for one year, But I had some problems, so I reinstalled it.

Now... After I reinstalled, all menus, all windows, has the appearance of Windows Vista Basic. I tried to change the Themes, but only appears Windows Vista Basic, and the classics.  I cannot change the color,  neither put transparency.

What is the problem? What I need to do?

Thanks a Lot, Sorry for my bad English,

Amelia

Hi Amelie123,

Try this.  RIGHT click on the DESKTOP and select PERSONALIZE,  then under that menu click WINDOW COLOR AND APPEARANCE.  When that opens you should see OPEN CLASSIC APPEARANCE OPTIONS...click that and it will open a window that allows you to change to VISTA AERO.  Select AERO and then click OK.

It should pause and the screen should go greyish for a short bit as it changes to VISTA AERO, then you should have the transparency windows and the AERO features.

Hi, Amelia

Have you updated the Windows Vista experience index after reinstalling the Operating System?

To update the index, Right Click on Computer icon and Choose Properties over there you will have the index rating Try to update and check for AERO.

Make sure you have installed the VIDEO DRIVER before doing this. :emotion-11:
