help! odd internet problems.....
I'm not sure what the main problem is but my internet has been doing some weird things... it does all of these things (i"ll list below) in internet explorer and if I go into AOL and try the same thing with their browser, it still wont work....
1 - a bunch of pages that require login info refuse to open, but others do. For example, my university has a webmail page (which is working) and a webct page (which won't let me get to the login page). It also has a reserve text page linked from their library and it too won't let me login... I can do it through other people's computers so I know my accounts are still fine.
2- if I am on msn messenger and use the link for my hotmail it will open just fine, but if I go to hotmail through the main msn webpage, it won't let me login.
3 - drop-down links (use a drop down menu to automatically move you to another page) don't work at all....like on this help page where you can use the "quick jump" - I can open the drop down menu and select a category but after I click on it, nothing happens.
4- even some basic links don't work... I'm on a friends computer right now since I can get to this help message board through my computer and even login to my account, but when I click on "new message" or "next page" nothing happens....
I've tried deleting my cookies from IE and my temp internet files, but that didn't do anything. I really don't know what's wrong.... or how to fix it

I would start by checking the system for viruses, trojan, spyware/malware, etc. This has all of the earmarks of an infection. You should update and run your AV software doing a complete scan, then update and run whatever you have installed to look for trojans, and spyware. Rule out all outside interference first. Then post back if you still have an issue. You can find lots of information at: http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board?board.id=si_virus and
