Help! Outlook Express problems

I have two problems.  1) When in outlook express messages, I can't open hotlinks in the messages.  Suggestions?

2) When trying to scan something in the all-in-one dell printer to attach to a message I get the following message;  Current email program does not support the microsoft comand set (MPAI) to automatically attach your scan to an email.  Suggestions to correct.
