Is this a recent install? If so, do a System Restore.

Daisydux,

I recently got that error when closing IE6 as well. I got rid of it by deleting all the temporary files, cookies, offline files, etc., and clearing the history. Reinstalling IE can't hurt either.

Verify those results with another scanner.  Some programs will see other scanners as potential threats.  However, that is an awfully high number.

hay, everybody. yes I reinstalled and removed again.....awhile ago. I have done the delete temps, files, cookies and ect. I have also restored to an earlier date. Reboot and check disk for errors at start-up,defrag and  removed alot of programs I wasnt using. Still the errors and  sometimes I am lucky to get online at all. I have been having problems for awhile now.....have done just about everything I can think of.
About the same time I upgraded to IE 7 I did  the "Windows Live OneCare"online scanner.....and to my surprise...it found 90 some viruses and junk.....I run ad-aware,CCleaner,SpywearBlaster ect, on a regular basis......
I reciently did that IEFix and it said the file explorer.exe couldnt be found....? But its on the task manager and with the most usage. IEXPLORE.EXE  is there also.

Is there anything I can do to get my speed back and IE to run smoothly again? thanks, Daisydux
