support.dell.com on your address in internet explorer ina working pc with cd burner or you have this resouce cd for latitude..  click the CD with greeen arrow ..downloads and drivers. choose model or type service tag. make sure it says xp not 64. and then on screen goto faint green line that says category. select system and configuration utilities... dell notebook sys software. click > download now! save. on save window click desktop on left then at bottom notice filename (or rename it to notebooksyssoft).  

repeat step with faint green line Category. switch it to chipset. then get  intel mobile chipset click download now and rename it to intelchip 

install in that order then rest dont mater order... but they are ,audio> sigmatel stact9700    video>  theres 2 choices . to find yours i recomend a simple tool from gtopala.com called siw.exe goto pci in it and the list up top shows chip info. its either 80830 or 80855 .

 and dialup modem is communicatiosn category> connxant driver D480.

dotn forget windows updates and java.com and adobe.com for flashplayer. for antivirus i recomend freeav.com of activevirusshield.com
