Help Please, Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Error

I've recently downloaded the sims 2 which playes fine on my computer, but i have bought two expansion packs for the game as well but when i install the expansion packs i can't play the game instead i get the message that Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library to terminate in an unusual way. I have contacted EA Sports customer service, and i have contacted Microsoft's customer service, i still haven't found a solution and it's been atleast a week since i've got the game, please someone help!
