How much RAM do you have? (Right click "My Computer" / Properties. Youll see it at bottom)
Run these online scans. They will ask for permission to download to your machine so click "Yes". Get then to scan all computer and to fix all they find.
Download Spybot. Install it, open it and look for the "Search for Updates" button. Put a tick at what it finds and then click on "Install Updates" Then click on "Check for Problems". It will run then and show a list of problems it finds. Make sure only ALL the RED entries are selected to remove, and then click to fix the problems
This type of problem can be due to a virus (or viruses), to Spyware, or to certain types of Ad Ware. Do you have a good anti-virus program on your computer (Macafee, Norton, et al.)? Do you keep it uptodate with (at least) weekly updates of the virus definitions? If it is not uptodate, then update it and run a virus scan. If you have no anti-virus program go to http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/default.asp?langid=ie&venid=sym, select to run the security check and on the ensuing screen select the Virus check. That will tell you whether you have any type of virus on your machine.
Do you have a good anti-Spyware program and a good anti Adware program? I use Spybot (http://www.spybot.info/en/index.html), AdAware (http://www.lavasoft.com), and PestPatrol (http://PestPatrol.com). All three are free. If you have no such protection, download the free versions and run them to remove any such junkware programs.

Thanks for all your help I do have Norton which I try and update at least once a week, I also have
AdAware and I did install SpyBot this afternoon. It did seem to help a little, but now it only hangs up
in my e-mail when I try and get into it. Thanks again.
