Help with this

Ok nobody else seems to know or doesn't know so here it is

Ok so I opened up Internet Explorer History, and I noticed that when I click on a some of the dates a few days back, it doesn't really expand them correctly. Like, instead of listing the video titles of the videos I watched on youtube, it just displays "v=". Usually when you go to History on IE, and go to youtube, it lists the video titles for the videos you watched...but mine is different.

This isn't only for youtube, it is for forums too, and instead of displaying the topic title, it just says "Index" for all of the pages.

Here are a few pictures of how things are right now, and how they are SUPPOSED to be:

-This is how it is right now:

-And here are the forums, see how they DON'T list the topic titles, and just say index...For example, instead of "index" for this topic I'm making, it would normally say "Need urgent help...please!"

-Also a quick thing- All of this is for my Internet History BEFORE July 3rd, everything after that seems to be in normal format lol, it's just the days before that which are mssed up.

-Also, when I use some of those "Internet History Manager" tools, they don't display anything before July 4th...programs off the internet such as "IE History Manager" or "Dutch Duck Utilities", they don't display anything before July 4th...why is that??

-I also don't want to do a re-install or anything, because I actually want to go back and visit a few pages still, so please don't suggest anything like that because I don't want to remove anything =/ Also please don't suggest virus scanning or it might be a virus...I just did that and will do it agian to be sure, but please try to not suggest that.

Thanks a lot!

Can't get your links to show anything other than a blank page :-).

I don't know why some are not showing properly, but for those that don't show up at all: after a certain number of days (which you can set), IE clears them automatically, so they would not be there for any third party software to see them.

To check that setting:

You don't say whether you have IE 6 or IE 7.

For IE 7, In IE/Tools/Internet Options, General tab, Browsing history, click settings (something similar for IE 6, can't remember exactly), there is a box where you can choose how many days the history pages are kept for. What do you have there?

Wow do the pictures really not work?  I just copied/pasted it, and they showed up.  They are a little small btw, I croppped it.

The number of days I have set is 223, and a quick thing:

My web pages aren't delete or anything lol, it's those pictures that are the main parts of this topic, that is how my History looks like.  They aren't deleted or anything, History is just displaying it weirdly.  Did you copy/paste the links, and they still didn't work?

-Have Internet Exlporer 8 I think, pretty sure.

I use IE 7. Very odd, I was previously using the Alt key to open your links in a new tab and just got blank page. When I tried again now, but just let them open in the current tab, I could see your pics :-).

Unfortunately I have no suggestions to make on what is going on. How many entries do you have in your history? It could be that if it is very large the cache has got corrupted?

You say you have IE 8. That is in very early beta stage, probably with lots of bugs. Maybe you should revert to IE 7, see if it behaves better.

Also, if you have IE 8, you could post on the MS Internet Explorer beta forum. You can do that in Outlook Express, create a news account, server is msnews.microsoft.com, no password required. The board is

Microsoft.public.internetexplorer.beta.

Or access it on the web at

 http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.internetexplorer.beta&cat=en_us_2BAF8EC5-645C-4477-A380-0F1CF6C102F9&lang=en&cr=us

Maybe look through the posts there, see if someone has reported similar problems.

Oh wait it's Internet Explorer 7, sorry about that.  Would that change anything or make things easier to solve?  Also posted on Microsoft forums so I hope they will figure it out, but I could use advice on here too and help from here too, so I'll also stay on these forums.

well, if it is IE 7 that is now generally stable and well behaved. So apart from my suggestion that the history cache may have got corrupted, I don't know. The only way to find out would be to delete it and start afresh, see if the problem recurs as the cache builds up. I personally don't save my history, so have no experience of that aspect.
