Brahmanl.

I will assume that you have an antivirus program installed and that is is maintained with current virus signatures. If this is the case, do a complete system scan with it and verify that you have no viruses. The alert from the Internet is probably to frighten you into buying some program which will fix a problem you don't have.

What are you using as an email program? I'm not sure what is changing when you said the inbox keeps changing the email address on its own. A bit more detail would be helpful.

Yes, I use McAffee.  I keep it updated and it shows no viruses.  It is just aggrevating.  I have deactivated Messanger.  Changed my security profile to high...  But it is weird.

Another problem is  that every now and then the computer will just turn itself off.  (Inspiron 5100) Have run the test to check for overheating... etc.  So I thought maybe I have a virus.

As for the email... Outlook Express.  I reapplied the correct mail address again it is staying for now.  Thank you so much for replying... I am just sick of having problems that I don't know how to address.

I think you have a spyware. Some of the symptoms of spywares are popup messages, registry errors, unable to change home page or the home page changes itself for some reason, computer is running slow. You can try downloading an anti-spyware software such as Adaware, Spybot or HiJackThis. They usually help. But not always. Especially, if spywares may have corrupted a lot of reguistry files on the computer. There are also spywares that just keeps on coming back no matter how many times you delete them. MY suggestion is to completely reinstall your PC. Backup your important files before doing this. Reinstalling your PC will allow you to start w/a clean slate. After this, make sure to install an anti-spyware/anti-virus before you go visiting or browsing different websites as precaution.
