help!

Hi guys,

I see a process running called clclean.0001 it runs under my username. The system is clean and i am 100% sure its not a virus or anything like it. It is something that runs as part of either the bluetooth card or creative soundcard maybe i am not sure but can someone shed some light on what this is?

Hi,

It is installed by the Creative Audigy line of sound cards. If you have a new PC with an Audigy sound card or an Audigy processor on your motherboard, there is a good chance that this file is running on startup. It's "Creative Filter AudioControlMB Module" (ctmbha.dll, version 1.0.1.22).

It sounds like it helps Windows control the audio on your motherboard. It looks pretty harmless, so I suggest leaving it in place until Creative releases more information about what it does.

Regards

kenju4u,

The following is from this page, a Hijack Support site:

The Temp folders should be cleaned out periodically as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there. I am unable to find conclusive information about this file, do you know what this is? C:\DOCUME~1\Laura\LOCALS~1\Temp\clclean.0001 If it belongs to a legit program, you may want to move it out of the Temp folder.

That is the closest thing to definitive information about the file that I could come up with.

Thanks for the info guys, I guess there is no harm in leaving it running as long as its not a virus or malware...

Yeah I still have this running, its part of the audity software or emulator. Its pretty freaking annoying but neither Dell nor Creative has been any help. Dell tells me its a software issue and so they wanna charge me for extra support and creative tells me its something dell has in their software bundle they sent me..all i know is that when i uninstall audity software from my computer the clean.xxx process goes away...

its regarded! I am never buying a dell again...wish i could return this one and get a ABS. THey are so much better.

DELL IS WACK!

Hi,
Its natural that you would loose all the applications associated with that program when you uninstall it. This clearly indicates that it is a part of the application. And I think it should not trouble you untill you always want to open the task manager and look for that application. Its best to allow it to keep running untill and unless it is effecting performance of your computer. And I am sure it is not doing that. So, you need not worry I am sure it is fine.

Well, I fixed its little red wagon. In the registry, at key HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run look for the key named MBMon. Its data is Rundll32 CTMBHA.DLL,MBMon You can delete it outright, but then you'd have to know what and where it was to put it back. I just changed it to Don't Rundll32 CTMBHA.DLL,MBMon Windows will never find such a command, and it won't complain either when it fails to do so, so it just won't run. If you go to the System Configuration Editor (Start, Help, Tools, System Configuration Editor) and check the Startup tab, you'll find the new command there, checked to run, but of course it can't. No harm done. After making the change, restart Windows to stop the process. When it stops at Windows shutdown, it removes the folder it created in your Local Settings\Temp folder and leaves only the clclean.0001 file. That's all you'll need to delete.
