HELP
Upon shutdown of windows a blue screen appears, it does not specificy what the the problem is exactly, but gives an error message - STOP: 0x0000008e (0x0000005, 0x806631b1, 0vb1491af0, 0x00000000).
All the help so far as sent me to RegCure which I have run successfully with no effect.
I try to use system restore but because I cant restart properly, it wont take affect.
I haven't installed any new programs etc recently and my Mcafee is constantly complaing about buffer over runs!
I have updated as many drivers as possible, with no effect.
I am totally stressed out, been at it for 12hrs now, following stupid recomendations etc that don't work.
Have I got a bigger problem than I realise? PLEASE HELP!!

roosapoosa,
Registry cleaners can cause problems, so I recommend not using them.
Did you try using system restore(start, all programs, accessories, system tools, system restore) to go back to when the computer work correctly?
Make and model of your computer and operating system would be helpful.

roosapoosa,
If system restore doesn't work, then let's try a Operating system repair.
Insert the operating system disk and restart your computer. If you do not have a disk and live in the United States and are the origional owner, then click below my signature and request a set.
Press any key to boot from cd.
Choose install.
Do the agreement.
Now choose repair. Takes about 35 minutes. Keep the disk in until you see the Welcome Screen.
You'll need to get all the Windows Updates, again.
