Hibernate and blank issue

Question

PC can't hibernate I just cannot get my computer to hibernate. When I click on hibernate, the screen goes black but the computer will still be on as moving the mouse around takes me back to the lock screen. Blank screen After my computer runs out of battery and switches off, plugging it in and switching it on gives me a blank screen. The computer will be on but the screen will be blank and never lights up. I usually switch it off by holding down the power button but this is not sustainable. Please assist. PC config: Dell XPS 15 9550 Windows 8.1

Thank-you for your response. I have tried what was suggested in the post: re-installing 1.2.18 BIOS and toggling bios settings as per this post: linustechtips.com/.../.

My issue is still not resolved.

Thanks for the update, go ahead and try to reinstall the video drivers by entering your Service Tag here and see if it fixes the issue, if it does not can you try this command in a command prompt (you might have to run it as an admin): powercfg -lastwake and let me know if it says anything.
