Hibernate Missing

Hi,

Is there a way to retreive the ability to Hibernate my computer? I think while cleaning up some unnesecary files I deleted the hibernate files, and was wondering if there was a way to get it back?

Thanks for your help!

You can also set up Hibernate in Power Options in Control Panel. Use the "Change Advanced settings" link to select it.

I've tried the website as well as the enabling from the power options. However, when I ran the commands from the website, I've got a message saying "system does not support hibernation" and I can't see the hibernate option inthe power options.
My old harddrive had some problems and we couldn't fix it. I got a new one and formated it.
I downloaded all the necessary files from the dell support website.
however, the "stand by" option when you click the turn off the computer icon is not highlighted and I can't click on it.
Does any of you have any idea how to fix this problem?

1. Click the Start button.

2. Select All Programs.

3. Select Accessories.

4. Right-click on Command Prompt.

5. Select Run as Administrator.

6. When the UAC prompt appears, click Continue.

7. type powercfg /hibernate on

8. reboot
