Here is exactly what i do: 1. Insert the Windows XP cd 2. Restart the computer 3. As the computer starts up i press   to enter the system boot menu 4. I press boot from cd 5. The screen says: press any key to continue 6. The screen turns blue and informs me that the Windows XP installer is getting ready 7. There is a menu that says: To set up Windows XP now, press enter To repair using recovery press r To quit, press F3 8. I press enter 9.The screen now says: Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed on your computer Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk-related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufacture-supplied diagnostic or setup program Setup cannot continue. To quit setup press F3 This is when i wonder if adding the (used) ram had anything to do with this. Another problem: System restore...doesnt work after i choose a date, the system reboots then says that the system cannot restore.

Try setting the bios to boot from CDROM first, instead of using F12. Makes a difference on some systems.
