Instead of dragging (enlarging) the screen, you need to "maximize" the screen by clicking the middle box at the upper right of the screen, to the left of the "X". Then after it's maximized, click the X to close the Window. Open the window again and it should open in the maximized screen.
It makes no difference whether I maximize or drag the home page to fill the screen. Whenever I log off and later log back on the size is reduced, needing either dragging or maximizing. The computer does not remember either.
Try opening a single window, maximize it, then close it by [Alt] File/Exit (instead of clicking the 'X') to see if that makes a difference (it shouldn't, I realize, but I've seen it work). Just make sure that you don't have other IE Windows open, as it only remembers it if it is the last window closed.
Then I might assume you have some corruption. Open a command prompt and run chkdsk /r and 'y' to schedule for the next reboot, then reboot. If still using IE8, you might try upgrading to IE9. I normally wouldn't recommend updating to try to fix the problem, but this is the kind of stupid little thing that might simply be overwritten by the newer version.
Glad you got it working! :emotion-21: Thanks for posting back. Sometimes when you upgrade to a newer version, the settings get wiped away and go back to normal. You then have to change it to maximized, if that's the setting you want.

biker275,
I am using Internet Explorer for the example. Right click on your browser icon, left click properties. You should them see this.
Change the drop down menu to maximize. Click Apply, then OK.

I apologize for not being clear.

Thanks for the reply, but as you suggested the problem still exists.

Thanks! I probably will never know how I managed to cause this item to be reduced, but it now opens up maximized.
