how can I reactivate my settings?
Inspiron E 1405, Windows XP
I noticed when I turned off my pc last night that it took a very long time, it was hanging at the 'saving your settings' screen.
Today , I have not been able to sign into my main account, it stays at 'loading your settings', then a sign comes up saying, it couldn't find my settings and would open temporary settings. However , it never came to that point, it just stays at 'loading your settings'.
I'm now here on my guest account, where at least some settings seem there, however some of the things installed dont seem available, like google chrome.
How can I reactivate my settings, and what may have contributed to this? I'm not aware of have had anything unusual happen. One thing I did do was run CCleaner and it may have deleted some files in the registry (didn't back them up).
Update: I've now been able to access my main account, however all the settings are gone, it's like a new account, and the screen is all blue.
All the files I had on my main account do not show up any more.

zorba199,
Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
CCleaner will delete your cookies and change or delete registry settings. This will cause the deletion of some personal settings as well. You will need to recreate these settings back into Windows.

So, since I didn't back them up , is there a way to recreate them? And for the future: if I do back them up, how would i recreate them, just find them and doubleclick?
Also, I won't be able to restore to an earlier condition, since that hasn't been working in quite a while. Would pressing f11 at star-up, and returning it to an earlier condition there help?
