How do I boot to CD?

I am attempting to run the Dell recovery disk for an old 4100. I can't get it to boot to the CD drive. Please help.

When you first startup the computer, tab F12 and then select Boot from CD.

If that does not work, ensure you have the CDROM as your first boot device set in the CMOS or BIOS settings.

Thanks for the help!  Denny, I followed the direction in the article you supplied and it worked perfectly.  I pressed DEL when I saw the Dell logo and a screen came up which allowed me to select boot from CD.  I was then able to access my Dell recovery disk and restore my old 4100 to "like new" condition.  This old computer will now be used by our daughter for movies, homework, music, etc. Thanks!
