Thank you Steve!  I have a question please about Outlook Express,  if this is the right board please?  When I open OE it says the host cannot be found,  yet if I go to "tools"  and look at Internet Accounts it has mine in there with about 4 I don't know.  Should there be other accounts with that? and
2) how do I get my host name to work (it says it's default)?
Thanks a lot!!!!

Windows is the operating system.  It controls everything you do on the computer.  It is Windows that loads IE and any other program you run.  It is Windows that keeps track of all the files on your computer.  Everything you do while on the computer is done by Windows, so yes, you are running Windows.

It sounds like you have not entered the correct pop server address (and possibly SMTP servers address) in your account setup.  You need to get these addresses from your ISP and enter them in the proper fields in the account properties.

You need to call your Cable company and have them help you setup your email.

Yes, the ISP customer service will walk you through it step-by-step. If you give them permission to "take-over" your desktop, they will even do it all for you. They are much better at service than Dell or Microsoft, believe me (they need your CONTINUING business!)
