Systems shipped after July 15, 2004 came with Symantec PC Restore. This utility restores the computer to an "as-shipped" condition. If you haven't reformatted, repartitioned, or otherwise modified the master boot record, it should work. Click here for instructions about Symantec PC Restore.
How do i reinstall windows xp?
Just tried to reinstall Windows XP using Dell's provided CD. No luck though. When it gets to the blue installation screen asking for what type of installation process you want (repair, reinstall, etc.), pressing the indicated keys does not do anything. No key stroke does anything. Does this mean my CD is flawed or is something else causing it? If it is the CD, any advice on how to get a replacement from Dell?

Request an XP reinstallation from Dell using one of the links in this post. Installation procedures are given here.
