How do I see CPU temp on D-8400?

I have just installed a Zalman CPNS9500 A/T cpu cooler into my D-8400. I would like to know if there is a way of monitoring my CPU temp. Many thanks.

yeah I tried that but it just gives me the temps of my HDD's. Or maybe I have not configured it properly.

Many thanks.

I recall some posts a while back stating that Dell motherboards(no matter who manufactures them) are made to Dell specs and do NOT have the capability of having their CPU temperature monitored.

To do what is being asked, the OP will have to purchase a temp gauge from many computer stores or online.  Since that system is getting older, and not being an issue from what I read, its really not necessary unless you like to look at the temp for the heck of it.

My Dim 4400 also did not have this capability and I never saw a need for this for over five years.

" Dell motherboards(no matter who manufactures them) are made to Dell specs and do NOT have the capability of having their CPU temperature monitored. "

This is quite untrue.

I use speedfan to monitor CPU and harddrive.

pcgeek11--
I think that the statement I had recalled seing applied to Dell motherboards at the time the statement was posted(I did say a while back), perhaps at the time when the 8400 was a current model, since the original poster stated that he tried speedfan and it didn't work. Or are you saying that all Dell motherboards can have their cpu temperatures monitored?

ALL, ALWAYS, NEVER, ... are too inclusive to be used by most people. But I have an I5100 and I1501 and speed fan works on both of these.

I could not or would not say it will work on all.

Everest works fine. CoreTemp reports incorrect temps for X2 cpu's (at this time).
