How to change owner of laptop - not with Dell
I received a Vista laptop from my daughter.....how do I get it to recognize me as the owner. Have noticed several places where her name appears. One other problem is with SKYPE, I deleted it and reloaded thinking I would be the owner, but it still thinks she is the owner. HELP What all do I need to change???

Hi
You can not get her name off of the computer without restoring it back to the Dell F8 factory settings .When she typed in her name to register it to the computer it is that way until you restore it and add your name the way you want it .
Warning a factory restore will format the hard drive so all software you have installed will have to be reinstalled the doc pictures and other data will be lost if you do not back them up !!
To do the factory restore start by reading this link http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/document?docid=336966 and follow the steps to the T. then reinstall all of the other software you have.
