How to cleaninstall WinXP
Hi,
I tried a cleaninstall of WinXP (to get rid of old program files and viruses) from the recovery cd, but even though I chose "delete partition and all data", only WinXP was only replaced - all the old program-files remained on C.
How do I proceed if I want to format C to get rid of all data on C and then install XP from the scatch?
I did activate XP after my first "cleaninstall" - will I face problems if I want to activate XP a second time after the new reinstall?

If you delete your C:\ partition then create a new one, there will be no trace of your earlier installation on the system. See the instructions here. You should not have to activate XP after you reinstall it.

See if the following article can help with reinstalling XP.
