How to delete files in C;\windows\temp file

I have observed that the windows\temp folder has aquired over 120,000 files with a colume of 12.7GB and has been increasing at the rate of about 1GB per day.  If I work back, it seems to have started with the detection and removal by Norton Antivirus of the "bloodhound eploit 106" virus.

I have looked for .tmp, .chk and ~.*.* but have only found relatively few.  I have not tried to open the temp file because of its size, but from the Norton scan it seems that many of the files seem to be similar to c:\Windows\Temp\ {E680725d-IE09-430A-9622-B2F394984B23}...

Can anybody help before my hard drive overflows?  This is URGENT

Best regards

I am confused by this line. How are you observing these files? Go to Start>run, then type %temp% to open the temp folder then follow boppo instructions, you may have to do it several times as sometimes they are stubburn. Also the fact that this folder is growing by 1 gig a day suggests to me that something is amiss on your computer.
