How to open emailed .pub file

Hello,

I received a ".pub file" as an attachment to an email and when i tried to open it the "open with" window popped up and that's where I get lost.

I never know what to open with so I always choose "other", in this case that was probably the wrong move because I got a pathway denied error.

I suspect you can tell I am a Novice at this, so please send step by step instructions!

I had the file resent "contract.pub" does any know how I'm supposed to open it and write on it?

Please, contact me at force04@comcast.net

Wishing All, A Happy, Healthy and  Prosperous NEW YEAR!

Hi,

Files with the suffix pub are Microsoft Publisher files. You will need the MS Publisher program or a viewer file to open it. Ther are some share / freeware programs that can do this.

These links may help

Alternatively ask the person who sent it to you to e-mail it to you in another format.

They could for example use the Adobe Acrobat site and convert it to a PDF Adobe Acrobat file which you should be able to read with the Adobe Acrobat reader program you will probably have on your computer.

Unless the page is complicated the page could be saved as MS Word or any other text format.

Paul,

Any file with a ".pub" as its file type belongs to Microsoft Publisher. In order to open that program, Publisher will have to be on your computer or else you will not be able to view it. Perhaps if you have Microsoft WORD on your computer, you can have whoever sent the document to you copy and paste it as a WORD file then resend it to you. That way you would at least be able to read (but not edit) the document.

Best Regards,

Greg
