How to remove dual boot system (Me/SP)

I have a Dimension 4100 running WinMe.  Last month, I installed a 2nd hard drive (D:) and began to install WinXP on it, setting up a dual boot system.  Right now, I don't have time to continue working on the XP upgrade, so I decided to delete Win XP and start all over again sometime later.  I reformatted D:, but I still get the dual boot menu.  How can I get rid of it?

I see from http://pages.zdnet.com/hampsi/Articles/dualboot.htm that when I installed XP on D:,  XP also installed three files in the root of the C: partition. These files are hidden, read-only, system files and includes:  boot.inintldr, and ntdetect.com.

Should I just delete these 3 files, or will that be asking for trouble?

dcjt,

Edit the boot.ini file to remove the reference to Windows XP and the dual boot prompt will no longer appear. Instructions for this are here. You will have to manually edit the file, as I don't believe bootcfg is included in Windows ME.
