how to set the default media player

After I've installed the QuickTime player 6.5, it becomes the dominant choice when I use the IE in the internet.

I want the Window Media Player to be the default player in the internet.

I've tried to change the preferences of the QuickTime, i.e. files type association,  but nothing changes.

Please help.

If I want to uninstall the QuickTime, should I click on "uninstall" or "uninstall everything" in uninstallerer.  I don't run any game in my computer.

Thank you.

i can only give you a couple of tips.. after you have adjusted the file associations in quicktime which could mean unchecking everything except "quicktime video", go into windows media player/tools/options/file types, and check all the boxes there for file associations, and also go to "add/remove", then, in the left column, click "set program access defaults", and make windows media player the default player..

Hi,

Thank you for your reply, but I don't find the ""add/remove", then, in the left column, click "set program access defaults", and make windows media player the default player.." you've mentioned.  Is the "add/remove" tab in Options?  My computer is running on Window xp.

Thanks again.
